Zimbra Desktop Release Notes

Zimbra Desktop client is a free application that allows you to manage your Zimbra Collaboration service while offline. You can synchronize your e-mail, calendar, files, and contacts so that they are locally accessible. Zimbra Desktop aggregates information across your Zimbra, Mail, Gmail, Yahoo! Zimbra Desktop 7.0.1 contains enhancements and bug fixes for the Zimbra Desktop client.

Features

• The Zimbra Desktop client can be used as the default email client in Linux.
• Backup locally stored data using the Backup Accounts Now feature located at Preferences > Backups > Configure Backups.
• A preview of the calendar can be seen when reading an email that is a meeting request.
• Filters can be created for outbound messages to sort them into folders, forward them to other email addresses, and to tag messages.

Fixes

• Mail filters are synchronized from Webmail to Zimbra Desktop.
• Request Read Receipts can be enabled for non-Zimbra accounts.
• Searching for recurring events by subject can be performed in Calendar.
• PDF files can be opened in Briefcase.

How to Upgrade

To upgrade Zimbra Desktop, simply download the new version and follow the installation procedure. This should update the existing Zimbra Desktop installation to the new version.
