FAQ - How does the Virtual Machine work?
Posted by Eapps Admin on 08 May 2012 08:21 AM
The Virtual Machine service runs in a 32 or 64 bit Xen container. Xen is one of the most widely used Virtual Machine technologies used today. From Xen.org:
"With Xen virtualization, a thin software layer known as the Xen hypervisor is inserted between the server's hardware and the operating system. This provides an abstraction layer that allows each physical server to run one or more "virtual servers", effectively decoupling the operating system and its applications from the underlying physical server."

With our easy to use Create-A-Cloud™ tool you can create a custom plan. Choose how much RAM, disk, CPU and traffic resources you need. Your Xen Virtual Machine will be provisioned in minutes on a state of the art Cloud platform powered by OnApp, the leader in Cloud management systems. From there you can access and use your Virtual Machine. For selected Operating System Templates, you will have additional tools such as control panels that let you administer your VM and install the applications you need, including those from the supported eApps Application repository.

In the event that you need to adjust your resources to match demand, you can easily and quickly do so.
